Thank you for viewing my website. I hope you find the contents both interesting and useful.
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry, Shropshire. I also see patients at the Nuffield Hospital in Shrewsbury.
My specialist area of orthopaedics covers joints and soft tissues problems of the hip and knee.
This website should provide you with an insight to the conditions I see within my practice and offer information on how they can be treated.
I graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 1998. After my House Job in The Royal Liverpool University Hospital I continued my Basic Surgical training in Merseyside encompassing all facets of surgery including plastics and neurosurgery.
I undertook Specialist Orthopaedic training in the West Midlands based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry. After this I trained for a year with Ian Stockley in Sheffield as the 10th Cavendish Hip Fellow gaining expertise in complex revision hip and knee surgery.
I commenced my Consultant post at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in September 2009.
I have a hip and knee replacement practice performing over 300 primary (first time) and revision (re-do) surgeries per year. I also perform arthroscopic knee surgery.
I have an NHS and private practice at RJAH and also see patients at The Nuffield Hospital in Shrewsbury.
I live locally to the hospital in the middle of the beautiful Shropshire countryside with my wife and our daughter. As a family we have thrown ourselves into the country life by raising rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black pigs!
My personal hobbies include golf (which I play at an agricultural level befitting my surroundings) and cricket which I play for the Hospital team. We are lucky enough to still have a full sized cricket pitch at RJAH which we make full use of during the summer months playing once a week as you can see below.
